ASU Makes Noise In Weems Basket

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State's men and women's cross country teams continued their spring season in the Weems Basket Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina Saturday.

Dustin Ross won both of his heats in the 800m and 1500m, placing sixth and third respectively for a solid showing in fields of over 45 runners. Jaiden Brandt finished third in the 5000m.

On the women's side, Alicia Connolly led ASU with a 24th place finish in the 800m run and 28th in the 1500m. Jessica Carpenter placed 34th in the 1500m, while Jacquelyn Nagel crossed the line 46th.

Half of the women's events were canceled due to inclement weather.

ASU next competes in the Jet Johnson Relays hosted by South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, S.C in a two-day event beginning Saturday, March 30.
