ASU No. 5 In Region Poll

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State women's cross country squad held steady at No. 5 in the first NCAA Southeast Region poll of the regular season, according to an announcement Tuesday afternoon from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Lady Jaguars landed at No. 5 in the preseason poll, and have yet to move after two meets. They began the year running in the Appalachian State Invitational, and won the Bridgestone-Pacer Invitational last Saturday after placing four runners in the top 10, led by senior Lyndsay Nichols' second-place finish.

ASU remains the top-ranked Peach Belt Conference team in the poll, landing just ahead of UNC Pembroke, who is ranked sixth. Flagler, who was previously not ranked, ended up at 10th in this week's rankings.
